Our team
We work out of 1386 Winona Ave here in Morgantown, and the people who show up to look at your door are the same people who fix it.
There's no dispatcher reading from a script and no sales rep separate from the tech - whoever answers the phone at 1-304-202-6017 is talking about the actual job in front of them. We're not going to hand you a made-up backstory about decades in business or a wall of certifications to make the page feel heavier.
What we can tell you is what we work on: springs, openers, tracks, rollers, cables, and panels, on doors that fit the housing stock in this area - a lot of it built between 1938 and 2008, with the bulk of that dating to the 1980s and 90s.
That range means we see a wide mix of hardware, from original torsion setups on older houses to newer opener models on houses built closer to 2000. If a job needs a part we don't carry on the truck, we'll say so up front rather than stall you. That's the honest version of who does the work: local, hands-on, no anniversary attached.
What to expect
Call or send a request, and the first thing we ask is what the door is doing - won't open, opens partway and reverses, makes a grinding noise when the spring lets go, that kind of detail.
That gets us most of the way to knowing what's wrong before a truck ever leaves. What we can't price over the phone is anything that depends on seeing the actual hardware: the door's width and weight, whether it's a single torsion spring or two, what brand and age the opener is, and how bad the rust or wear is on the tracks.
A broken spring on a lightweight single door is a different job than the same break on a heavy insulated double, even though both sound identical over the phone. Once we're at the house, we look at the springs, cables, rollers, and opener, then give you a number before any work starts - not an estimate that changes once the job's half done.
If the fix isn't worth it compared to a new door, we'll tell you that too. Given how much of the housing here dates to the 1980s and 90s, that conversation about repair versus replace comes up more than you'd think.
Service area
We run out of Winona Ave and cover the towns around it without treating any of them as an afterthought. Westover is two miles off and Granville three - both close enough that we treat them the same as calls inside Morgantown itself.
Brookhaven, four miles out, and Cheat Lake, six miles, are regular stops too. Cassville sits about seven miles from us, and Reedsville twelve - still solidly in our normal run.
Fairmont and Pleasant Valley, sixteen and seventeen miles, and Kingwood and Farmington at eighteen, are towns we'll drive to, but at that distance we'd rather talk through the job on the phone first so the trip is worth it for both of us. Tunnelton, twenty miles out, is the far edge of where we go.
If you're outside this list, ask - but we're not going to claim coverage of a town we don't actually reach. That's the honest limitation: distance changes how fast we can get there, and past a certain point it changes whether a same-day call is realistic at all.
Common jobs
Broken torsion springs are the most common call, and given how much of the housing stock here dates back to the 1980s and 90s, a lot of those springs are original equipment finally giving out after years of cycles. A spring that snaps usually takes the door out of commission completely - it won't lift, or it'll try and stop halfway.
Winters in this area sit on the severe end of the cold climate band, and cold makes brittle metal worse. We get calls where a spring that was already worn lets go on the first hard freeze of the season, not because the cold caused the wear but because it's the final push. Cables fraying off the drum, rollers seized in the track, and openers that run but don't engage the trolley round out most of what we see.
We also get calls on panels dented or cracked from a backed-into door or storm debris - those are usually cosmetic unless the track's been knocked out of alignment too. What we don't do is guess at a fix sight unseen; every call above gets a look at the actual hardware before we quote it.
Questions
Not an exact one. We can give you a rough sense based on what you describe, but the real number depends on seeing the spring size, door weight, and opener condition in person. We'd rather quote it right once than adjust it twice.
Our regular run covers Westover, Granville, Brookhaven, Cheat Lake, Cassville, and Reedsville. We'll also go to Fairmont, Pleasant Valley, Kingwood, Farmington, and Tunnelton, but at 16 to 20 miles out we like to talk through the job first.
Both. A lot of the houses around here were built between 1938 and 2008, so we see original hardware from the 80s and 90s alongside newer opener models. Parts for the oldest doors sometimes take longer to source.
We'll tell you if that's the case rather than run up a bill on a door that's on its way out anyway. Sometimes the spring is fine but the door itself has enough wear that replacement makes more sense long term.
